I can now symbolically vote

There's a new website http://ballotbox.ie/ where I can cast a symbolic vote as a non resident? But should I? My vote is no.
Yeah if you're away for the week the election is on you should vote. If you don't live there then you shouldn't. If I'm not paying taxes in the country why should I have a say in how it's spent? (And I'd include any rock stars non resident for tax purposes in this). Basically the government manages the taxes and how it's spent, or in the case of Fianna Fail mismanages the taxes and how they're wasted.
There are too many people 'vote for the man, not the party' getting a shower of gobshites in power. Why are dirty politicians reelected after being caught avoiding taxes, taking bribes and being gobshites? Why was Healy-Rae allowed in after threatening EU grants unless Kerry was allowed in? Because politics are local.
Votes in a general election aren't for the good of the country, it's for what's right locally. And do you really want some one to get the millions of votes on the promise of doing great things in New York, in London and maybe Vancouver? They should do something at home instead, Mary Harney spent enough travelling as it is.

Even if it's symbolic it's an opinion and you can express it! It should have no legal or decisional value, but if people wanna do it...why not?! If it makes them feel good an important...why not? If it's not serious, it brings no harm! :)
