As some people know, I cant swim. Even with the lessons I've been taking. But I've watched way too much Baywatch so lack of floatation wasn't going to stop me in a heroic rescue outside of Kingston Ontario last week.
We had gone to visit with Jeffy and Cheryl and they live right on a lake. Anyway, we got up to find the kids were already out on a tube thing with Cheryl watching. She needed to leave to help Ursula with some stuff and asked me to stay as a responsible adult. Ursula did try to point out that neither words applied to me. But of course I was left there to watch 3 kids, a tube full of air and a lot of water.
See where this is going yet?
Of course the youngest falls in and starts screaming (he was OK, Cheryl being both more responsible and adult than me had made sure he had a life jacket on) and without the aid of red shorts on one of those floating can things I jumped and in. Well waded. In far enough to get my nipples wet.
Next time I'll try a bit of swimming too, if my lessons get that far.
