3D HD TV

Is this double D's? I just got to see the new 3D HD TVs in BestBuy (not cheap) with the special USB glasses (again not cheap, $250 for a pair of glasses).
Will it be worth it? Maybe.
What I liked about this type of 3D (as opposed to the one with the coloured glasses) was that it worked so well. In the IMAX I got to see a documentry on the building of the space station. Having this massive space station look like it was floating a metre from your face was amazing.
Some movies do great things with it, Journey to the Centre of the Earth while not a greta movie had a lot of fun with it. Other movies are a bit more blah. Since the TV is so small (50 inches) or so you don't have objects flying out towards you, it's all depth so there's not so much to play with.
Would I buy it for a TV? No. I'd rent out the normal versions of the movies instead of the 3D versions.
Then I walk to the other side of the store and they have it set up with I think an XBox. Oh hell yes. There was only a demo screen available, but instantly you can see where this is headed. 3D games where you go and blow the hell out of anything that moves. Think of multiplayer Goldeneye on the N64 and add 3D. It's got a bright future.

Though would I buy it? No. I'd go for the Vuzix Wrap 310 which are only $199, show 3D and give me a virtual 55 inch screen. Use it everywhere.
